ABOUT SIOBHAN EKEH

Siobhan Ekeh is a multimedia artist, writer, and educator living and working in Brooklyn, New York. She received her BFA with a drawing concentration and a creative writing minor from Pratt Institute in 2025 and currently teaches elementary school art in the Bronx.

Her drawings, soft sculptures, concrete poems, short stories, videos, and performances reflect on her Christian, Nigerian, and American heritage while also seeking to reimagine the future of the “human”/land relationship. Preoccupied by the warping of time and space caused by displacement, land destruction, and cultural loss, her writing and art explores the discord created by being removed from one’s point of origin as well as the world of possibilities that arises form learning survival in unfamiliar climates.

Ekeh's works across mediums seek to form a constellation of emotional, mathematical, and scientific information that convalesce into a greater narrative around the realities of loss, placelessness, and grief imposed by colonial destruction.
